E. Clifton Hoover, Jr., CFA, formed Hoover Capital Management, LLC in 2016. HCM’s initial product was seeded on August 11th, 2016, the Global Opportunities strategy.  Mr. Hoover has over 30 years of experience in the investment management industry and has built his career on the “contrarian” value approach to investing. Before forming the new company, Mr. Hoover was the Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director of Dreman Value Management in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was the lead Portfolio Manager for the Dreman International Value and Dreman U.S. All cap products.  

Before joining Dreman, Mr. Hoover was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at the NFJ Investment Group in Dallas, Texas.  In this role, Mr. Hoover managed a $25 billion U.S. Dividend Value portfolio and a $2 billion International Value portfolio.  In addition, Mr. Hoover previously co-managed the PIMCO NFJ Small Cap Value fund.

Mr. Hoover began his career at Republic Bank Dallas (now Bank of America), involved in various corporate banking/finance transactions. 

Mr. Hoover has a Master’s in Finance from Texas Tech University.
